||Ant McKenna is no stranger to the dusty road.
As number seven in a family of eleven kids, he was one of the younger kids relegated to very back of his mum’s Falcon station wagon as it drove on gravel roads around regional Victoria.
Later, as part of iconic folk festival act Those Bloody McKennas, he toured the country gathering friends and stories over many years, before taking time off to raise a family of his own on the Sunshine Coast.
Most recently Ant has been the (arguably) better-looking and more talented half of Alt-Folk Country Samaritans Alfanant, who are currently in the midst of an East Coast tour.
“Alfanant remind us all why we picked up guitars and started jamming with mates in the first place" says Mandi McIntyre from Woodford Festival.
Away from music performance, Ant has been actively involved in music and arts industry development through not-for-profits, local government and state government.
Ant is taking a moment mid-AlfanAnt-tour to hit The Bug for an intimate solo show to share songs and stories new and old.
For those of you who don't know it the New Farm Bowls Club is on Brunswick St opposite New Farm Park. It has a great atmosphere, food, good parking, public transport, and a bar and a kitchen, open till 8.30pm. Click HERE to see what's coming up in the next few weeks.
