Name: Tin Star
Brief Blurb:

Well 2020 started with a bang for Tin Star, performing at Woodford Folk Festival, playing with Mick Thomas (Weddings Parties Anything) at Lefty's Music Hall and then ... nothing. With no shows in the foreseeable future, we slacked off a little, drank lots of cups of tea, watched lots of movies, way too much Netflix and live concerts on Youtube - but somewhere in there, we managed to write some new songs. They are crackers, (even if we do say so ourselves) and we are super keen to be able to perform again and to showcase our new songs at the Bug.

They have been described as the Dixie Chicks meets Bruce Springsteen however Brisbane trio Tin Star are pretty hard to pin down. Their music has layers of folk, country, western swing and pop. They regularly perform on the Australian national festival circuit having played most recently at Woodford Folk Festival in 2019-2020.

Their music has been described as "more than just entertainment - makes you think and feel and understand something more about the human condition. There is a complexity and depth to these songs, but they are also appealing and delicious, drawing you into their ideas with sublime harmonies and superb musicianship ... combines fragility and strength, traditional sounds and contemporary themes." excerpt from Tamworth's Country Music Capital News.
